Trip Itinerary

The group meets in the small fishing village of Stavanger. This village can be explored on foot with lots of shopping and restaurants to choose from with local flavor.

In the morning we catch the 8:00 am Lysefjord ferry. It slowly winds its way further inland to a narrow and spectacular, 3000 foot fjord above a deep salt-water channel. We will arrive in Lysebotn at noon, walking distance from the cabins.

Each cabin has two small rooms with bunk beds, two people per room and one fold out bed in the living room area. Each cabin has a bathroom and shower, small kitchen and dining table. The front deck looks back down the fjord with a 1000 ft. waterfall near the grassy meadow.

Usually on our last night we take the shuttle to the Crows Nest restaurant for a great last meal in Lysebotn. The Crows Nest is perched high upon the North side of the fjord.

On our last day we will depart on the afternoon ferry back to Stavanger. The group will say their good-buys and depart in the morning to their home destinations.

Each morning we will take a 20-minute shuttle ride to the trailhead. Most hikes will take two to three hours to get to the highest exit points.

After each jump a boat will take us back to the cabin area. The grassy meadow makes a great packing area.

In the cabin area there is a Café-bar & grill that serves a great meal. The cost of most food at the café is on the expensive side, so we recommend that you bring some dry goods and backpacking type foods, and only have one meal a day at the café.
